[ Is this a sarcastic joke or completely serious? It's the game you always have to play with Jack, but. It's probably the latter considering his everything. His cheerfulness does at least shift to something more serious once Jason speaks, since it's clear that he's the most enthusiastic one here. Though it is kind of weird to Jack. And in that, it's why this role was so ironic and terrible to give to Jack of all people. Maybe he was able once, but he's certainly no longer capable of the sort of guilt that Jason and Luke are feeling here. ]

You've got the pessimism going strong, and I can't say I blame you, because, honestly? From what I've heard, miiight kinda be better to go with the pessimistic route here. Not thinking we're heading towards certain death, but, well, not my impression that we're exactly heading home either.
