Of course not, Jack. I am wounded that you think me so cruel. Angel may be dead as it stands — but that does not have to be the case, Jack. You underestimate what I am capable of. Given the circumstances early in the project, it was much too complicated to tell you of Angel's fate, and was much easier to provide you with a hint towards her good health.
